Hi I’m Ben Burns, company Director at Black Duck Flooring. After starting my career as a subcontractor straight out of school, I gained over 20 years of industry experience and recognised an opportunity to raise the standard of flooring services locally.
Black Duck Flooring began modestly, with my wife Lily and I running operations from our living room. In just four years, the business has grown significantly.
I now lead the company strategically, while our team of ten highly skilled floor fitters brings over 100 years of combined experience. We also provide carpet and vinyl installations for new-build developer Cala Homes across multiple sites.

Outside of business, I am Dad to Jesse, aged two, and Jonah, 10 months, so there is never a dull moment! However, I am always pushing to get the most out of life. Last year, I qualified as a mental health first aider and was fortunate to climb Mount Toubkal in Morocco. In January, I started jujitsu at a local club and am hoping to compete later in the year.
