Tim Green is Head of Training at F. Ball & Co Ltd, one of the UK’s leading floor-covering installation product manufacturers. Tim’s career in the flooring industry spans over 20 years.
He began with a floor-laying apprenticeship straight out of school, then worked for several contractors and eventually ran his own business. He transitioned into teaching the trade at a further education college, completed a teaching degree at the University of Huddersfield, and subsequently moved into the manufacturing side of the business.
Before joining F. Ball, he spent about six years heading up training, product-development and technical support for a floor-covering manufacturer. In his role at F. Ball, he oversees the company’s training delivery at the F. Ball Centre of Excellence, manages relationships with colleges and private training providers, and ensures the training curriculum stays aligned with evolving industry demands (e.g., LVT installations, sheet-vinyl courses).
He was awarded Master Fitter status by the National Institute of Carpet & Floorlayers (NICF) in 2023, recognising his practical expertise and commitment to high standards in floor-covering installation.
